Talk2 Whisper node, low power sensors

Today I received my Whisper nodes fromΒ https://talk2.wisen.com.au/, these devices are a lot more low powered compared to the esp8266, I will be testing these to see if I can get a similar working setup with less battery drain, to get longer batterylife from smaller batteries πŸ™‚

  1. In Europa Whisper Nodes or Moteinos are hard to get. Plus you have pretty high shipping costs and import taxes.

Let me recommend you an alternative product: https://www.canique.com/mk1 – it is a moteino clone and just like the whisper node it is arduino compatible and supports RFM69 radio modules. You can run it with 1 AA battery if you attach something like this boost converter https://www.canique.com/boost to it.
It’s definitely easier to get in Europe, faster to receive, and with less shipping costs.

    1. I’m guessing you are plugging your own product, which is fine, shipping does take a while from australia, and it’s always good to have alternative options, but I still have about 30 whisper nodes in stock, so I will be using them for now πŸ™‚

      1. Right – I needed some of these nodes myself, and couldn’t find a cheap way to get any in Europe. I’d have needed to pay a nice amount of import taxes + fees.
And I guess there are other people in Europe suffering the same problem – all projects of these kinds are located in Australia or the US.
Maybe I offer this product 2 years too late for your needs, but it might be of help to somebody else πŸ™‚
